Volunteer Opportunities

Below is a listing of volunteer opportunities at Beth Jacob. Please call the Shul office at (404) 633-0551 to participate!

  • Kiddush Committee
    • Prepare food and tables for Shabbos Kiddush. Meets on Thursdays 9:30am - 11:30am.
    • Kiddush Shopper: Going to Costco? Want to help us by picking up some items on a monthly basis?
  • Shul Office
    • Office tasks such as filing, scanning, collecting data manually from papers and files (as needed, several times per year, minimum commitment 1 hour per session for the times you are available)
    • Collating mailings (as needed, several times per year, minimum commitment 2 hours per session for the times you are available)
    • Solicit business sponsorships by email, phone, and in person (ad journal, Purim Parade and Festival)
    • Turn on Main Shul memorial lights prior to Shabbos (less than 1 hour per week).
    • Make cholent for Heritage Hall Kiddush when needed.(approx. 1 hour)
  • Preschool Office (weekly, minimum commitment of 2 hours per session for the times you are available)
    • Office tasks such as filing, scanning, collecting data manually from papers and files
    • Organizing classrooms, closets, kitchen
    • Helping prepare children activities
  • Preschool Garden (bi monthly, minimum commitment of 1 hour per session for the times you are available)
    • Planting, weeding, and normal upkeep
  • Purim Parade & Festival
    • Serving on committee to help plan and organize the event. (1 hour weekly during planning season)
    • Volunteering at the event (1 hour shift)
  • Holiday Welcoming
    • Welcoming members and visitors to High Holiday services. Choose from several shifts.
  • Event Planning Volunteer
    • Serving on committee to help plan and organize the event. (1 hour weekly during planning season)
    • preparation holidays and special meals (setting tables, preparing goodie bags, etc.

  • Seudah Havra’ah (meal after funeral) Committee
    • If your schedule allows you to be available at the last minute to participate in the important mitzvah of helping set up the meal at a shiva house following a funeral and/or covering mirrors, please contact gvexler@bethjacobatlanta.org
