The Beth Jacob Sisterhood would like to welcome you to Congregation Beth Jacob. We hope you find our community to be warm and friendly, and that our shul meets your spiritual and social needs. We look forward to meeting you and getting to know you better.

    Sisterhood has three main goals:

Chesed (Kindness). Sisterhood helps provide chesed support to families and individuals in need. For example, we provide meals, clothing, and transportation. We also provide Chesed through the Rabbi’s Discretionary Fund, in which Rabbi Feldman gives tzedakah (charity) on an “as need basis.”

Programming. We bring women together for fun, social, and Jewish learning programs. We have had a very successful Jewish holiday programming series that included both inspirational Divrei Torah from our Rebbitzens combined with a craft or cooking activity.

Fundraising. Sisterhood raises money to help areas of the shul that are in need, and whose needs cannot be met by the annual shul budget. Examples include: decorating the bride’s preparation room, repairing siddurim (prayer books), updating the office computers, and financially supporting the preschool and NCSY (Teen Programming), Chesed, and the Rabbi’s Discretionary Fund. We also sponsor two Shabbat Kiddushes each year. Our two annual fundraising events are the Donor Telethon and the “Silver Tea” event that focuses on Chesed.
