Shabbat Adult Beginners Service

Are you curious about what is going on in services? Do you want to practice reading Hebrew? Have you ever found yourself lost in services: What page are we on? Why are we saying this? What does this mean? How come some people stand and others sit?

Over the past 20 years we have designed a learning environment where you can find all the answers to those questions and many more that you never even thought of. Rabbi David Silverman shares his knowledge of the structure of the siddur, the meaning of its content and the chance to practice reading Hebrew in a 2 hour interactive prayer service that is more classroom learning style than actual serivce. You can stop the action and ask questions, respond to a question or just get up and leave.

Starting at 10AM and running to just before noon you can join Rabbi Silverman once or every Saturday morning for a 6 week cycle or drop in to revisit anytime throughout the year. You can apply the experience to any synogogue service whether it is Orthodox, Conservative, Reform or otherwise. Towards the end of the service there is a brief segment of Torah study followed by an intimate kiddush.

You are welcome to join the main sanctuary's famous communal shabbat morning kiddush and take up an offer to spend a shabbat meal with a local family who is honored to have shabbat lunch guests. Please contact the office for arrangements if you wish to be hosted for a shabbat meal or mention it to Rabbi Silverman as a spur of the moment decision.

Drop in to visit, it could change your prayer experience for the rest of your life!
